In Memoriam: Susan Sharpe
“What matters is not who does the work, but that the work gets done—by all of us.” — Susan Sharpe
We are saddened to inform our supporters that our beloved board member, Susan Sharpe, passed away on Thursday, May 22. Despite retiring and moving to Victoria, Canada in 2020, her love for this community and dedication to restorative justice kept her actively involved in the Hub’s development over the past 5 years. As a pivotal member of our organization since its early exploration days, Susan offered us a clear vision, a strong moral compass, and an invitation for deep reflection at every point along the way. With her careful guidance over several years, we were able to design and implement our accompaniment services, which she was able to see come to fruition after our public launch in April.
Susan seeded and continuously nurtured justice work not only through her professional roles but through her personal actions and values. She will forever be part of the roots of our work, and we encourage everyone to honor her memory by carrying forth her vision of weaving a stronger justice net for all.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our work and Susan’s vision throughout the years. We will grieve, we will hope, and we will continue to do the work.
